hmm. certainly not the tortoise--it's just a (barely) remixed version of
"why we fight," almost identical to the 7" version (recently rereleased on
soul static sound). the ui track (by themselves) is a live recording of
pretty raw funk; not a bad song, but it feels a little out of place on the
comp. echo park's is ok--i don't know them--sort of dark, 4/4 midtempo.
really, though, like i said before, it's all that other stuff that makes
the comp really worthwhile. and the ui/vibert, again, is stellar. in my
oh-so-humble opinion.
